Speaking to Philippine Daily Inquirer, Christian Bale confirmed that Christopher Nolan’s “The Dark Knight Rises” would be his last as the Gotham crime fighter.
Bale continued his spell as the iconic crime fighter after taking over the role which saw other Hollywood leads like George Clooney, Val Kilmer and Michael Keaton. “Batman Begins” in 2005 marks Christian Bale’s entry to the million dollar franchise which saw him through to the next episode in 2008, “The Dark Knight” which grossed $ 1 billion.
Bale has said “I wrapped a few days ago so that will be the last time I’m taking that cowl off. I believe the whole production wrapped yesterday, so it’s all done. Everything’s finished. It’s me and Chris — that will be the end of that Batman era.”
The $ 200 million epic finale is due on July 20 featuring Gary Oldman, Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine, Joseph Gorden-Levitt, along with Anna Hathaway as Cat woman and Tom Hardy as Bane.
