FEBRUARY 2007

We need your help

If you travel away I need your view on away grounds to add to our website. Include season visited, ticket price, view, accessibility and (if you risk it) the quality and value of the food and drink.

Use the contact us page on the website and send your view to Antony Jordan, hopefully I will be able to start this new section soon and we can make it a useful resource with the fans view of grounds people may want to visit.

DECEMBER 2006

Supporters and Board get together

The Board of Directors of Aston Villa have created a Supporters Consultation Group (SCG). The first meeting took place on the 16th December before the match against Bolton Wanderers. At this meeting and at all future meetings, each representative is asked to bring with them their three top questions. The questions asked are then rated by all attendees and the 15 highest points scoring questions will then be submitted to the Club, and the replies published and promoted for the benefit of all.

This is a fantastic opportunity for the fans to be heard and get questions answered. AViDS are proud to be part of the SCG and welcome questions to be asked at subsequent meetings, we also require volunteers who would be willing to attend a meeting on behalf of AViDS.

If you would like to have a question asked or would like to attend a meeting on behalf of AViDS, please contact Pauline or any of the committee members using our "contact us" page or speak to any of the committee at the match.

NOVEMBER 2006

Thankyou Randy

Nobody could have failed to notice 93+ coaches heading down to Stamford Bridge on a wet (but mild) Wednesday afternoon. It was a pity the team forgot to turn up that evening but we'll ignore the scoreline now.

I'm sure I and 6,000 other fans would like to thank our new Chairman for the generous offer of free coach travel to the game although I'm sure nobody could have guessed just how popular a midweek game would be at the start of November.

Despite the scoreline, it was a fabulous atmosphere and all of our fans were in great spirits and excellent voice well beyond the final whistle.

JUNE 2006

Aston Villa 4-1 Parkfield Veterans

On an overcast cool Spring morning Villa Old Stars and Parkfield Veterans produced a fine flowing game of football, turning the clock back up to 25 years for Villa Captain Neil Rioch, John Chambers, Darren Bradley, Colin Gibson & Sid Cowans to name just a few of the ‘old stars’ who produced entertainment which would have not being out of place in the current Premiership.
