A week ago, Hollywood was ablaze with Potter magic. But now the US box office crown has changed hands again, and Captain America reigns supreme!
The latest super-hero franchise to storm the theatres is based on another Marvel Comic. It tells the story of a guy who gets transformed into a “human weapon” or a super soldier. The Chris Evans- starrer unfolds during World War II, where our hero fights against the villains of the Third Reich.
Despite its name, Captain America: the first Avenger is not a patriotic film, says director Joe Johnston. Rather, the big screen hero embodies “the spirit of doing the right thing”. This is also the fore-runner of next year’s Avengers, a movie that throws Captain America, the Hulk, Thor and the Iron Man together to take super-heroing to the ultimate level!
So, attention, action movie lovers! Better rush to your theatres, ‘cos Captain America rules!
