Tony Bennett is all set to release what is now known as the final song and video of the late British songstress Amy Winehouse. It will be released on Wednesday which would have been the 28th birthday of the late singer.
Bennett collaborated with Amy for “Body and Soul” back in March 2011. Recorded at Abbey Road Studios in London, the clip was done by Oscar Winning Cinematographer Dion Beebe. First glimpsed at the 2011 VMAs, the video shows Amy looking healthy and the duo singing away with satisfaction.
Issuing a statement on his collaboration with the late singer Bennett said, “We had a beautiful time recording together in the studio, and I knew that Amy was very happy with how she performed that day. I thought she was absolutely brilliant, and this recording truly captures the essence of her unique artistry. She was a rare talent.”
The clip is featured in Bennett’s “Duets II”, which also features artists like Lady Gaga, Michael Bublé, Queen Latifah, Carrie Underwood and John Mayer. All proceeds from “Body and Soul” will be donated to Amy Winehouse Foundation.
